- To carry out certification of work carried out in accordance with the scope and privileges of the authorisations held and in accordance with the company
- Supervising staff, in conjunction with a lead mechanic, allocated to the aircraft or zone that the Certifying Engineer is accountable for

- Maintain awareness and knowledge of regulatory requirements and any associated changes in relation to EASA Part 145, Part M and Part 66
- Housekeeping, ensuring work areas are kept clean and tidy as reasonably practicable
- Ensuring personal licence and authorisation remain valid
- Ad hoc project work as required within the scope of the role
- A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or similar
- EASA Part 66 Licence, B1 on at least 2 aircraft types on company’s approval
- Full understanding of regulatory requirements in relation to Part 145
- Minimum 5 years’ hands on experience of certifying aircraft with an EASA Part 66 Licence and appropriate company authorisation
- Proven leadership skills
- Experience of supervising departmental Health & Safety & Compliance
- Completed IOSH working safely course is desirable
- Technical experience in aviation and able to demonstrate knowledge of airworthiness regulation, MOE, MEL and its use, SRM understanding and the limits of technical data and the impact of that.
- Have a working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning;
- High standard of English language (written and oral)
- High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite

- Perform sheet metal work activities on fabricated parts including assembly fixtures, drilling, deburring, filling insets and general SMW activities
- Maintain work area, equipment and records to be audit ready
- Manufacture and fabricate aircraft SMW parts, panels, doors etc from various services aircraft. Determine type and extent of repair or replacement required, type of material and repair methods to use. Lay out, cut from, join, assemble and install items
- Ability to understand and interpret customer specifications and technical drawings
